Mark Tuesday nights for Mike Holstein's Original Music Series at the Altamont in downtown Asheville

After seeing Chris Smith at One Stop tonight, I dropped in at the Altamont Theatre (not Altamont Brewing Company) to see Mike Holstein's weekly original jazz series. It was wonderful to hear Michael Jefry Stevens on the piano along with everybody else who played. Mike Holstein asked me to play a couple of my tunes, and I played my jazzy "When The Flowers Bloom, "and then "Solitaire" about riding the F Train in NYC. Thanks, Mike, for asking me to play.

This coming Tuesday, June 19th (from the Altamont's website):
"Original Music Series with guests Matthew Richmond, Bill Bares and James Simmons Tuesday, June 19, 8pm FREE!

"Asheville's own Mike Holstein and Justin Watt bring Original Music on the scene in Asheville. This is a Musician's Heaven. The Altamont Theatre is proud to support the craft of music compostion.

"This series is a place where composers can share new material and musicians can hone their reading skills by seeing the latest in modern repertoire. The first set will feature a special guest composer, and the second set will be open for other professional musicians to join in."

Be there.
